This website was created as an approach to the digital community with the goal of attaching an aesthetically pleasing website that invokes a fun and exciting emotional reaction to one's shopping experience.

The entire website is centered around 4 colors that are vibrant and will invoke that psychological feel that one is apart of a digital world via their experience. At times, there is a blend between the 4 colors as there is an emotional meaning behind the color scheme being resemblant of a sunset. Digital Aesthetix offers a range of products that meets modern digital artistry. This is an era that blends creativity with technology.

DESIGN PROCESS

Homepage Layout:

Header- The header includes the company logo, as well as the navigation menu. Along with this is a running video header that plays automatically at the top of all pages. The video animates the website by adding a more 3D effect to it. There is also a headline that is the company’s motto “Become the Aesthetic" Also included in the header is a search bar to make specific items easier to find. Customers can access their drop-down shopping cart if they need to keep track or make adjustments at any time.
Content Sections- The sections are organized into 6 different categories:
- Home
- Contact
- Apparel
- Home Décor
- Travel/ Work
- Digitalz (coming soon)

Under each item, there is also section for review and ratings after purchase.

Towards the bottom of the home page there are featured items under the headline: "Become the Aesthetic"

The footer includes information on how to join the company’s email list so that customers can stay connected. However, this page will also show up after the customer has placed a purchase. Furthermore, the footer includes a second language option (Spanish) and the option to select one’s country or region for appropriate money conversions. The last details included in the footer are the payment method that are accepted. Generally, if customers feel that the home page is, to their preference, inviting after a full-page view, there is a very important CTA here that allows customers to go ahead and make the necessary adjustments and decisions to shop. Tis, to me, is a way of allowing the customer to make their own choice to trust and shop rather than immediately inserting a pop-up in their face. Many customers see the pop up but also many will close out of this pop up because primarily you want to view what all a company has to offer before staying connected.

o Navigation: As I stated, the navigation menu is separated into 6 different categories. Each of those categories are 1-2 simple words describing what each section will contain. Once each of those categories is selected there are then subcategories that further simplify what each one contains. The navigation menu is located at the top of each page on the computer or laptop and located on the left side of the screen for tablets and phones. The menu button on all devices, however, is easy to locate

o CTA: The website could use a few CTA words or phrases on the home page. There is a “Join our email list” at the bottom of the website, but there could be a more straightforward yet inviting approach to this. There is however, an “Add to Cart: button with each product, but perhaps a discount pop-up or a “Embrace your Aesthetic Today (Get yours today) Link could be added to increase conversion rate.

Usability

Ease of use: Users should be able to perform simple tasks such as accessing the menu, the search bar, the shopping cart and a few featured items, all with a click of a button from the home screen.

Efficiency: On average, the user only takes 30 seconds (browsing not included) to get from the home page to the purchase screen. The system seems to be very straightforward in user understanding and navigation. Even if a buyer is not sure on the specific item, it is still quite simple to navigate between tabs and pages.

Satisfaction: Along with the impact of the color scheme and simplistic navigational system, hopefully users feel relaxed and intrigued emotionally when accessing this website. There are also multiple pictures throughout the website with both individual and context views of the products. This hopefully gains not only the customers’ attention but also their trust when shopping.

Errors and Prevention- Errors or changes that need to be made would be the running video head that shows at the top of each page. Users can get bored or tired with this or possibly even confused the way it almost engulfs the header depending on the device the customer is using. As mentioned also, there needs to be more CTA words and phrases throughout the website, especially the homepage. Also, give users the option to choose a black background (dark mode) or a light one.

The overall usability of this website is high and very intuitive as it allows users to complete tasks rather easily. It requires minimal learning time and can very easily recover from the errors. However, overall, this website seems to provide a satisfying user experience.
