Transitions can be a big part of an individual’s life, especially when there is more than just you to consider. With an influx of furry companions, one would seemingly want an environment that is suitable for both the owner and the pet. What better way to know your furry neighbors than through an app designed for your community?

This application allows owners to locate the nearest parks and their amenities so that they are able to connect with other dogs and their owners in the surrounding area. The application also contains features such as user profiles, alerts to send out for lost dogs, and invites for hosting parties. These features will aid in building a stronger community as well as bringing the owners closer together.

This app really targets social interaction and connectivity as well as community building.
These days many people have a furry companion of some sort that they greatly value.
This community building would seemingly enhance mental health in terms of stress and support groups in both the owner and the pet.
Furry companions, canines in particular, have a great way in adding to the community orientation of a neighborhood, including the events.
Many studies show just how effective not only having a furry friend is, but also how important it is for your pal to feel that sense of community as well.

Of course being the owner of a furry companion there is an obvious personal connection that I have with this application.

The design process began with the color scheme:

Green was one of the main colors because it gives a fresh sense (outdoorsy)
Orange was a vibrant secondary color that was a playful pop of color.

The main goal of this app was for your pet to be the center focus, so much so that one would believe this is their profile. We wanted the design to include icons that are also pet friendly, in hopes for more engagement and community. Also there are options to change the profile to colors such as pink and blue which allows the gender friendly option. Users enjoy the opportunity to make choices and additional changes to their preference.
